Local Images
Living in the north of Leicestershire I’m surrounded by wonderful country side with Bradgate Park just around the corner.

We had spent some time around Grace Dieu and then saw the sun set as we drove home. I like the atmosphere created by the mist hanging over the old Abbey ruins.
Old John at Bradgate Part. The setting sun creates a warm glow to the image and the foreground.
Another one of Old John with the sun setting in the distance. Used a small aperture to create the sun star effect.
Taken on the night of Halloween. I went with the aim to capture the moon behind Old John. It didn't quite work out how I expected due to be stalked by rutting Deer so hot footed out of there smartish.

I was setting up to take some images of another water fall but as I was about to change my lens I noticed this duck keeping an eye on me.
Not quite as local as the other images on this page. Taken at Rutland Water and using 2 images to blend 2 different exposures.
Taken just around the corner from the house so very local. There are 2 ponds which had frozen over but as the water level has dropped its created these effect in the ice.

The recent rains had cause the ponds to flood and during the cold spell they froze over. These trees are usually on dry ground.
Out for an evening walk with Mrs H and Brody the dog. The Nikon Z6 deals well with low light condition and high ISO. Timed the shot so Suzanne was directly under the street light which creates a slight glow around her hat.
Really happy to see this kingfisher at the local bird hide.
This wasn't the image I went to get. it was supposed to be a sunset image but sometimes you just have to look behind you to see the real drama.
